dc.description.abstract | With increasing system complexity, engineers use different tools to save money and time during the design and development cycle. Simulation is one of the important tool engineers use very often. These simulation tools are becoming more powerful because of the faster computers available today. This thesis presents a design of a Real Time Control System (RTCS) simulation concepts using famous Power System simulation tool PSCAD and the off the shelf Digital Signal Processing (DSP) board with the Analog simulator at the University of Manitoba. This RTCS simulation concept is validated for known HVDC system networks in real time. The benefit of the design is to achieve simple design of a real time controls with available hardware and software such as PSCAD and DSP boards. | en_US |
