dc.description.abstract | A mathematical model has been constructed of the Wilson Creek Experimental Watershed. The watershed is located in the Riding Mountain National Park in the Province of Manitoba. The model consists of a computer program which uses rainfall and evaporation data as input and which produces hourly streamflow hydrographs as output. Physically, the model can be thought of as a system of linear reservoirs with outflows corresponding to the hydrograph components: direct runoff, interflow and base flow. The parameters that define the storage and outflow characteristics of each reservoir have been determined, from observed hydrographs.
