dc.description.abstractThrough the use of focus groups, this study explores the issue of gender-based violence prevention in rural Manitoba from the perspective of ten youth. Over approximately three months youth participants took part in a Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) project that used elements of community-based and arts-based research methods. Participants shared their understandings of gender-based violence, the role of rural geography in experiences and/or prevention of gender-based violence, and how they saw themselves and other young people as participants in gender-based violence prevention efforts.en_US
