Canada is home to over 60,000 Ghanaian immigrants and many other national groups. Through migration from one country to another, immigrants relocate to a host country with a different cultural identity from their original home. This practicum project proposes a new physical space, a Ghanaian-Canadian community centre which will be located at 145 Pacific Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba to display Ghanaian art and culture. Such a structure would allow Ghanaians living in the city to connect with their traditional culture and identity and offer Canadians the opportunity to explore and experience the Ghanaian culture and engage in social interactions with Ghanaian immigrants. The community centre would present Ghanaian culture by offering festival celebrations and traditional performances, hosting communal gatherings, and creating opportunities for people to learn about Ghanaian culture.en_US
