The objective of this report was to investigate what the impacts of research projects implemented with Mitacs funding from Manitoba, have been for the students or post-doctoral fellows, university professors, and partner organizations. To advance this line of inquiry, we consulted with Mitacs to identify all internships completed in Manitoba to determine which internship projects would be suitable to participate in a case study methodology. Research projects selected were from: medicine, sensory engineering, electrical engineering, and environmental geology. Additionally, metrics and assessments were evaluated to understand the innovation and economic growth leveraged from Mitacs funding. The findings conclude that research partnerships in Manitoba leverage innovation across the globe.en_US
