dc.description.abstract | Objective: To examine if a Simple Memory Tool would: 1) assist with daily life memory performance and goal attainment of older adults; and 2) have a different effect for individuals with normal cognition or Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). Methods: The study used a mixed design with cognition (normal, MCI) as the between-subjects factor and session as the within-subjects factor. There were 19 participants with normal cognition and 9 participants with MCI. There were 3 sessions for each participant, where participants collaborated with the researcher to set goals for memory. Between the sessions, participants worked on their goals using the Simple Memory Tool. Results: The findings support that the Simple Memory Tool was effective for assisting memory performance and goal attainment. Overall, performance was better for participants with normal cognition. Conclusions: The memory tool intervention could be beneficial for older adults with normal cognition or MCI. | en_US |
