Self-represented litigants are growing in numbers and they are a concern in every sector of the legal community. These citizens use public institutions to do their legal research. In this article, I focus on academic libraries and academic librarians offering services to this clientele, a form of university outreach to the community. Academic law librarians play an intermediary role between self-represented litigants and the legal information they seek.en
