Abstract: This letter models and analyzes an adaptive radio link level error control protocol using Reed-Solomon codes for wireless networks. Results show that the proposed dynamic rate adaptive strategy provides a much improved throughput relative to a conventional type-I and type-II hybrid-automatic repeat request (ARQ) protocols.
