Abstract
One of the most common themes in postcolonial African literature is the identity problem. Many writes are interested in the failure of postcolonial government to implement new policies of governance that could give Africans an authentic identity. The question being asked now is: What is happening in the new independent nations in Africa that promotes the identity crisis?
